A DRUGS eradication team seized 1,700,000 stimulant tablets worth over Ks4.8 million yesterday in Thawon Chaung Check Point in Nay Pyi Taw.
Acting on a tip-off, police waited for suspects Private Aung Kyaw Naing and Aung Than Htay at the Thawon Chaung Check Point in Nay Pyi Taw at 9am yesterday, officials said. After a search, 18,500 WY stimulant tablets were seized from Aung Than Htay and Aung Kyaw Naing, who were allegedly trying to sell the drugs, police said.
Acting on information obtained from the suspects, police went to search a house in Kone Tan village in Yathaytaung Township, where eight bags containing hundreds of thousands of WY stimulant tablets were seized. Private Aung Kyaw Naing and Aung Than Htay, together with their mother Daw Kyin Sein were detained at Zayte Pyin Police Station in order to have lawsuit filed against them.
