State Counsellor Daw Aung San Suu Kyi thanked the public for its active providing of assistance to people in water-scarce areas and honoured the Noble Heart Survival Assistance Association for its effective and systematic provision of assistance, wide coverage of water supply and technical assistance for reduction of water scarcity for the long term and measures enabling the youth to be aware of extended information concerning the people facing a scarcity of drinking water and to participate on a wider scale.
Public service personnel from Union ministries, region and state governments, the Myanmar Police Force and Fire Brigade have laid special emphasis on providing assistance to people in water-scarce areas. Citizens, private individual donors, parahita associations, business organisations and members of the public are also visiting water-scarce areas to provide assistance in cash and gifts voluntarily.
The letter of appreciation released by the Office of the State Counsellor yesterday states that it is heartening to see people providing assistance and that citizens are thanked for cooperating with the government in disaster relief. The letter of appreciation was signed by State Counsellor Daw Aung San Suu Kyi.
